Beautifully crafted decagonal vessels
that bloom like flowers.
The crisp thinness and robustness
unique to porcelain are also appealing.

These beautifully fresh-looking decagonal vessels are created by ceramist Yuichi Murakami, who produces pottery in Toki City, Gifu Prefecture. From a bird's-eye view, they form an intricate decagon, while from the side, they appear to gently unfurl like a blooming flower. Murakami's vessels combine functional beauty with grace, possessing a refined beauty that seeks the "right balance," akin to the order of nature and the philosophy of architecture.
These celadon decagonal vessels boast a crisp thinness unique to porcelain, making them easy to handle and robust, despite their generous diameter and capacity. The ten-faceted body allows for easy scooping and serving of dishes with liquids, making them comfortable to use. The fact that they are microwave and dishwasher safe is also a major draw.

An elegant jade green
with fresh transparency.

Beyond the beautiful decagonal shape, what captures the eye is the elegant jade green color created by the celadon. With a translucent hue reminiscent of a shallow sea, it possesses a versatility that gracefully complements any food color or dish. The glossy glaze that pools in the well (bottom) and footring, appearing slightly darker, creates a wonderful sense of rich dimensionality.
Furthermore, perhaps because the ten facets gently illuminate like a reflector, the food served on it seems to look even more beautiful. Brown side dishes take on a refined impression, while white and green ingredients resonate with the jade color, creating an extraordinary beauty. It also balances well with strong ingredients like red and black, and even everyday dishes like pasta and fried rice gain a fresh and elegant appearance.

An impressive deep dish, a versatile shallow bowl perfect for everyday use,
and small bowls that change their expression depending on the dish.

The deep dish, 26cm in diameter, has a wide, flower-like expanse and is perfect as a large serving plate for dishes to be shared by multiple people. It's ideal for Chinese single dishes like mapo tofu and fried rice, oden, and even for roughly serving hot pot ingredients, making them look impressive and stylish.
The shallow bowl, 18cm in diameter, is versatile for everyday use. It's just right for serving a rough portion of side dishes for 2-3 people to share, and also perfect for one-plate meals like mixed noodles or curry. The small bowl, 10cm in diameter, has finely spaced facets, and its gently curving, outward-flaring rim truly resembles a flower. It's suitable for blanched greens, dressed salads, natto (fermented soybeans), kimchi, and I think it would also complement sweets like warabi mochi and mizuyokan, or yogurt.
