SyuRo plates, which we've carried since kikkake first opened, are made from "stoneware," a type of pottery created by firing iron-rich clay at high temperatures. They retain the rich, earthy texture of earthenware while possessing the sleek hardness of porcelain. This gives them a reliable quality that blends seamlessly with the food served, and they are very comfortable to use.
Like other plates in the collection, this small plate is clean and versatile, matching both Western dinnerware and traditional Japanese ceramics. It also pairs harmoniously with dishes made from other materials like glass, metal, or wood. Finished with a matte glaze, it acts as a cool supporting actor, enhancing the table setting and making a stylish statement.

This plate is designed to be almost flat with no footrim to lift it, making it function as both a "plate" and a "stand." As such, just a small amount of condiments or fruit placed on it creates an impressive display. When filled with soy sauce or vinegar, it takes on the beautiful appearance of a puddle reflecting light. Everyday dishes like gyoza or sashimi feel sophisticated, as if you're dining at a modern restaurant.
Its flat design also means it doesn't take up much space when stacked, making it easy to store. It's also microwave and dishwasher safe, making it a perfect dish for everyday use.

Versatile Ice White,
stylish Greige,
and sophisticated Black.

This small plate is available in three colors: Ice White, Greige, and Black. Ice White is a cool white with a hint of gray. It's versatile and easy to use, with no glaze inconsistencies. Greige has no glaze, allowing the natural color of the clay to show through, so there may be some individual differences in color, leaning more toward brown or a stronger gray. Its fresh, light texture gives it a very stylish impression.
Black features a pleasing matte finish and unique variations characteristic of iron-rich glazes. The way the glaze appears and expresses itself varies from piece to piece, but we hope you'll enjoy the rich, non-monotonous black.

For Greige and Black,
we recommend conditioning with oil.

While we encourage you to enjoy the individual differences in clay color and the slight deepening of the hue that develops over time with the Greige and Black plates, you may notice fingerprints or color variations from water droplets after washing.
If this bothers you, before use, apply a small amount of neutral vegetable oil, such as salad oil, to a paper towel and gently rub it onto the plate, then quickly rinse with water. It's best to dry by pressing with a lint-free cloth or paper.
Of course, you can use them as is, but if you're concerned, this little extra step will make them even more pleasant to use.

Product Characteristics and Points to Note

• Please note that due to glaze irregularities, variations in shade, black spots, or bubble-like formations, each piece is unique and may differ in appearance from the images.
• Can be used in microwave, oven (up to 260°C), dishwasher, and freezer (down to -20°C).
• Even within the heat-resistant temperature range, rapid temperature changes can cause damage, so please be careful.
• Wash with a neutral detergent. Abrasive sponges, metal scrubbers, or cleansers that could scratch the器 may cause damage.
