Kimura Glassware has been making commercial-grade glasses for professionals in restaurants and bars. Founded in 1910, they have created a wide variety of designs with many artisans and factories throughout their history.
When we visited their showroom, we were surprised by the extensive range of cups and glasses on display, but among them, this particular cup felt especially thin and highly transparent. Kimura Glassware describes it as having "the sensation of holding a drink as it is," a beautiful cup with an extremely thin, stripped-down design.

The entire cup is uniformly thin, maintaining its slenderness right up to the rim. This gives it a delicate and elegant mouthfeel, allowing drinks to glide smoothly down your throat without any resistance. Kimura Glassware products, originally designed for professionals, come in a very wide range of sizes. At kikkake, we have selected three sizes that are easy for everyday use. The small size is perfect for when you want a little drink or a small glass of bottled beer. The medium size is standard, making it ideal for iced tea, oolong tea, and other cold summer drinks. The large size is generous enough to hold a 350ml can of beer. Its wide rim also makes it suitable for drinks with plenty of ice.

When photographing the cups, I tried various drinks, and the appealing feature of this cup is its lustrous transparency that doesn't detract from the color of the beverage. Its mature appearance makes it particularly suitable for the evening, whether it's dusk in summer, the soft glow of an incandescent bulb, or any kind of night light. Of course, it looks fresh and beautiful in the morning and afternoon too, but I would be delighted if you could use it as a special cup to leisurely enjoy your favorite drink at night.
