Roughly B5 paper size, or a little smaller than a college notebook, this enamel container is a handy item to have. It's large enough to be useful without getting in the way. At Kikkake, we also carry the Rectangular Deep Type series and Square containers, which are suitable for storing meal preps. This Rectangular Shallow Type, with a depth of about 5cm, is flatter, making it easy to use as a prep tray. It's ideal for holding chopped ingredients or coating fried foods like tonkatsu. It also comes with a plastic lid, so it's perfect for marinating meat or fish in the refrigerator for a while after prep work. This product is manufactured by Noda Horo, a company with 90 years of history that conducts all production processes in-house in Japan. It is a product of reliable quality, beautiful, clean, heat-resistant, and resistant to stains and odors.

Recommended for use as a frying tray
with a frying rack.

This container is also recommended for use as a "frying tray" by setting it with a frying rack. Although it's not a dedicated rack, among the various manufacturers' products we tried, this frying rack fit quite well. The strength of the metal is also solid, so you can use it with peace of mind. Another advantage is that the mesh is wide, making it easy to wash and keep clean. You can place even small ingredients on it, or larger fried foods like minced meat cutlets and cream croquettes, or stand up fried horse mackerel. It's convenient to have a full set of the enamel container, plastic lid, and frying rack for various uses.

Clean, sleek white and cool gray, a fresh color for cooking utensils. I don't often see gray frying trays, so I feel it could add a nice change of pace to everyday frying. Also, since it's a shallow container, it doesn't take up as much space as you'd think when stacked in the refrigerator. We recommend getting both colors to use them for different purposes.

Product Features and Points to Note

• After use, wash with a neutral detergent and sponge, then wipe off moisture thoroughly and dry.
• The enamel body can be used in the oven and dishwasher. However, it cannot be used in the microwave. The lid cannot be used in the oven, dishwasher, or microwave, so please be careful.
• There may be black lines or dots on the enamel surface. These are caused by unevenness in the glaze when it is applied by hand, allowing the black undercoat to show through. These do not affect usability and are not considered defective products.
• The lid is relatively prone to absorbing food odors and colors. If this is a concern, we recommend placing plastic wrap between the food and the lid or cleaning it with baking soda.
