Excellent cutting performance, sharpness that never dulls.
A perfected pair of kitchen shears,
so good that it's hard to consider any other options.
Zwilling, a traditional German kitchenware manufacturer, is soon to celebrate its 300th anniversary. Based in Solingen, Germany, known as the "City of Blades," it is a long-established brand that has continuously produced high-quality cooking tools, including knives. Among its extensive lineup, these kitchen shears are particularly popular.
I've been using them for nearly 10 years, and their cutting performance is so good, and they retain their sharpness so remarkably well, that I've never considered any other option. By using carefully selected steel and applying Zwilling's unique process of quenching the formed blades at temperatures below -70°C, they achieve high hardness, elasticity, and corrosion resistance. When you use them, you'll understand and appreciate their excellent performance.

Preparing meat,
cutting garnishes, oily ingredients...
The sharp blades cut ingredients cleanly without crushing them.
Of course, these scissors are great for opening bags, but I feel their true value shines when cutting ingredients. They are more agile than a knife, making them perfect for preparing chicken and ideal for cutting sausages, bacon, and fried tofu when you don't want to use a cutting board. They're also handy when you just need a little parsley or green onion, or for cutting nori seaweed more easily than with a knife. The uses are endless.
Furthermore, when cutting sashimi blocks into chunks or slicing toast, these kitchen shears cut sharply without crushing the ingredients, allowing for a stress-free and clean finish.

A beautifully standard form.
It can also be used for various tasks,
such as opening bottles or jars,
but the scissors function alone is more than satisfying.
This is what functional beauty is all about—a standard, sleek, and beautiful form. The balance between the handle, which is neither too heavy nor too light and allows fingers to slip in smoothly, and the glossy, high-quality blades is excellent. While it's not a separable type, I haven't noticed any rusting at the joint even after long-term use, so it's not a concern.
It can also be used to open bottles or jars, a multi-functionality that Zwilling was the first in the world to propose. Even as a single-function pair of scissors, the quality is more than satisfactory, but I consider it a masterpiece of a cooking tool that I can rely on in a pinch.
